Missionaries:

At Northview, we believe it is our job to bring the truth about Jesus to the ends of the earth.  Though we cannot physically go ourselves, we support missionaries and organizations who are doing just that all over the world.  Below is a list of some of the missionaries we support.
If you would like more information about any of our missionaries or our missions ministry, email Ben Burgess at burgoin@aol.com

  Chiredzi Christian Children's Home

Hippo Valley Christian Mission - Chiredzi, ZIMBABWE
/files/General/Missionaries Pics/picture coming soon.jpg In 1956 John and Marjorie Pemberton went to Southern Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, as missionaries with Central Africa Mission. Their work has centered on establishing churches, training leaders of the churches, evangelism, and establishing schools where Bible is taught as a required subject. John and Marjorie retired from the mission field to Grayson, KY in 1994. Their sons John Mark and Bob have worked hand in hand with other local Christian co-workers to build on the foundation they began. The schools continue to be a powerful tool of evangelism as well as a training ground for future leaders in the church. Since John Mark’s untimely death in November, 2005, Leanna has been asked by the Board to remain fulltime as Hippo Valley Christian Mission continues it’s work, with a team of ministers in the Mashoko/Hippo Valley area, in discipling and church planting. This has included working with repatriated Mozambican refugees, where the Lord has raised up three evangelists and five congregations. In response to the incredible AIDS crisis in Zimbabwe, Chiredzi Christian Children's Home and Chiredzi Christian Children's Village have been opened for orphans where children victimized by AIDS find refuge and hope through Jesus.   Ben Neilson

  Prague, CZECH REPUBLIC
/files/General/Missionaries Pics/Ben Neilson.final.jpg Ben Neilson grew up in Danville and attended Northview in High School.  For the last few years, Ben has been living in the Chech Republic teaching English and leading English clubs.  Through the relationships he builds in his classroom and with co-workers and friends, he challenges people to look beyond the Christian stereotypes to see a Christ that is worth knowing.

  TCM International

  Vienna, AUSTRIA
/files/General/Missionaries Pics/TCM.final.jpg Since 1963 TCM International Institute has been serving Christians in Eastern Europe. During the years of communist domination in the Soviet Union and her satellite countries TCM carried Bibles, Christian literature, food, medicine, and clothing to the Christians there. TCM missionaries wanted the Christians in these countries to know they had not been forgotten. TCM’s ministry was one of assistance, encouragement, and love.
In 1971 TCM’s Board of Directors agreed to purchase Haus Edelweiss near Vienna, Austria. This Haus (and three other buildings) on six acres of land was to serve as a strategic point from which to travel into the countries of Eastern Europe to serve Christians. Now, more than thirty years later, Haus Edelweiss is still serving in that capacity and much more.
Another dimension was added to the benevolence and encouragement ministry in 1982: Leadership Training. Church leaders from Eastern Europe were invited to Haus Edelweiss in Austria to study the Bible and related subjects with professors and preachers from the United States. Classes were also offered in-country for leaders who could not travel to Austria.
When communist domination collapsed in 1989, Gene Dulin, Founder/President of TCM, asked key leaders in Eastern Europe if TCM’s ministry was still needed in their part of the world. They said, “We need you now more than ever. Help us train our church leaders.” And so, since 1990, under the leadership of the current President, Dr. Tony Twist, TCM has been doing just that

  Zebedee Togarepi

  Chiredzi, ZIMBABWE
/files/General/Missionaries Pics/ZebedeeandRatidzo.final.jpg Zebedee Togarepi and Second Mile International are involved in church planting and evangelism through schools and orphan care in Zimbabwe. Because sixty percent of Zimbabwe's population is twenty-five years old and younger, that is who they gear their ministry towards. The Chiredzi Christian Children's home takes in the orphans and provides a place for them to live, provides food, and provides teaching about God and his plan for these children. For more information on Zebedee's work in Zimbabwe, visit the Hippo Valley Christian Mission website at hippovalley.com
