Northview Christian Church

News from Andy:

 1. We are changing curriculum in the children‘s area and want to train all of the   teachers. We will be offering training for everyone who either is or is interested in helping in the children‘s ministry. The first training date is Sunday, August 23  between services in room 106 and the second is Sunday, August 30 between services in room 106. We will share some security/safety information and then break up into nursery/toddler, Pre-school, and elementary groups to go through the curriculum. Please make a point to be at one of those training times. We need approximately 30 people each week to make our children‘s ministry run. If you are not plugged in to this ministry come and join us!

2. Dave Ramsey is coming to Indy on October 1 at 6 pm at the Pepsi Coliseum. The cost to our church is $30 per person. If you would like to attend please sign up at the welcome center and we will order tickets. His live event is very entertaining and hits home with finances. They hosted a luncheon for ministers and so I traveled to the east side for that event. I ran into a guy that was in the first class I taught at  our last church. He told me that he and his wife have taught 4 classes since that time. I asked him how he was doing with the "Baby Steps" personally, knowing they had in upwards of $100,000 in consumer debt. He said, "We‘re done. Paid it all off and living debt free." The stuff works. If you are like most Americans you can use financial advice. Why not get it from someone who has a Biblical and proven plan?

3. Life Group sign-ups have begun. If you are not plugged into a group, sign up in the Connections Café this Sunday. The first "official" meetings will begin the week of September 13th.

4. There are two new women‘s Bible studies starting September 8 and 9. You can sign up at the Welcome desk.

5. Read Exodus 34 in preparation for Don‘s sermon Sunday as we start our new "Revealed" series.

6. If you are not currently attending a Sunday School class, we have room in our World Missions class and our Going Deeper class at 9 am.

7. Strange request, we need about 10 people that are willing to make some homemade play-dough by Wed., August 19. If you can do that, email either  Nathan@northviewchristian.org or Lindsay@northviewchristian.org.

  8. The homeless ministry needs: meat, vegetables, socks, underwear, gas cards, and water for their ministry. If you can help by donating some of that stuff, either place it in the black box in the connections café or contact Scott and Peggy Hoover. (don‘t put perishable stuff in the black box : )

9. I still don‘t have info on a golf outing but will by next week.
